At the time, I wasn’t sure there was anything more terrifying than waddling into a breast health specialist’s office to investigate a suspicious lump while 38 weeks pregnant. I was proven wrong, however, when Dr. Frame called to confirm what we suspected: breast cancer. Only six hours after that call, I welcomed my first baby into the world. Dr. Frame held her the very next day while I was still in the hospital following delivery as he walked me through what we knew of my diagnosis and what would happen during the next few months. Since day one, he’s been my quarterback, choreographer, cheerleader, therapist, and, of course, surgeon. He sets the bar for compassion and will forever hold a slot in the hall-of-fame of my favorite people.
